There is something satisfying about knowing a little more about the food you take home. Buying fresh produce locally gives you the chance to discover seasonal ingredients and support businesses closer to home. It can also change the way you shop. A good-looking bunch of vegetables might inspire dinner that night, while a jar of local chutney or a favourite cheese can turn an ordinary meal into something a bit more special.
