Kitchen Garden
Clean and disinfect frames and greenhouses
Apply manures and fertilisers where appropriate 
Plant onion sets and shallots
Chit seed potatoes
Plant new strawberries and cover established strawberries with cloches if you want an early crop
Sow early crops in your coldframe or heated greenhouse
Start sowing vegetables without protection if you live in a mild area
 
Flower Garden
Plant container-grown shrubs and herbaceous plants
Sow bedding plants in seed trays in heated greenhouse or on windowsill
Start pricking out early sown bedding plants
Plant summer bulbs
Prune roses
 
Lawns
Brush off wormcasts, leaves and any other debris
Hand-pick large weeds or use an appropriate weedkiller
Trim lawn edges with edging iron
Start mowing the lawn, but cut high initially to avoid risk of damage
Lay turf in mild areas providing the ground is not frozen or waterlogged
